One city. One community recognition.

Stronger together.
Neighbour by neighbour.

Downtown Hamilton is shaped by more than its buildings and businesses. It is also shaped by the people and organizations who help neighbours get through difficult days. This page recognizes one such organization.

Our community recognition

Hamilton Food Share.

Hamilton Food Share supports a city-wide network of hunger-relief programs, helping local food banks and meal programs keep nutritious food moving to people who need it.

Founded in 1990, the organization coordinates large-scale food receiving, storage and distribution for member agencies across Hamilton. Its work connects growers, suppliers, community donors and front-line food programs.

We recognize the importance of dependable community infrastructure: practical local systems, often operating behind the scenes, that make an immediate difference in people's lives.
